Collection: Camp Furniture

The key to efficient storage in a campervan is choosing furniture that folds flat or packs down neatly into compact carrying sleeves. Most van owners use the space underneath a fixed bed platform where items can be neatly stacked or secured using bungee cords, cargo nets, or L-track tie-down systems.

Alternatively, you can store slender camp chairs and roll-up tables inside bench seats, in overhead cabinets, or mounted directly onto van panels, doors, and ladders to keep interior walk spaces completely clear. Some camp furniture like galley tables have smart design features that allow them to fold flat so they don’t take up interior space when not in use.

Look for structural frames made from high-strength aluminum alloy or heavy-gauge powder-coated steel. Aluminum offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio while resisting rust and corrosion from moisture or coastal salt air.

Meanwhile, natural bamboo finishes provide an extra layer of solid, warp-resistant performance while bringing a clean, modern aesthetic to your van and outdoor campsite setup.

For seating and fabric elements, look for high-denier fabrics like 600D polyester or heavy-duty ripstop nylon. These materials provide superior tear resistance, high weight capacities, quick-drying capabilities, and protection against UV degradation over extended outdoor exposure.

Yes, provided you select a table specifically engineered for heavy-duty outdoor cooking. Many premium camp tables available at The Van Mart feature heat-resistant tops that safely accommodate hot camp stoves, cast-iron cookware, and boiling water.

Look for models with cross-braced frame designs, positive locking legs, and independently adjustable feet, which allow you to maintain a level, rock-solid surface even on rocky or sloping ground. But it’s important to always verify the manufacturer's maximum weight capacity rating before loading heavy equipment.

Backpacking furniture is designed purely for weight minimization and ultra-compact packing, which often results in lower seating heights, minimal padding, narrower frames, and reduced overall stability.

In contrast, van life camp furniture strikes a superior balance between packability and real-world comfort. For instance, folding lounge chairs offer ergonomic high-back seating positions, supportive backrests, integrated armrests or cup holders, and larger surface areas. While still folding down into space-saving profiles, van camp furniture delivers a far sturdier and more comfortable experience for extended outdoor relaxation.

Proper maintenance significantly extends the lifespan of your outdoor gear. After every trip, wipe down metal frames and fabric surfaces with mild soap and warm water to remove dust, mud, salt spray, and sap.

Crucially, allow all components to air-dry completely before folding and stowing them away to prevent the growth of mold, mildew, or hardware oxidation inside sealed storage compartments.

Also, periodically inspect hinges and leg joints for accumulated dirt, and store gear inside protective storage bags to prevent abrasion damage while driving on bumpy dirt roads or trails.
