PLACE TO VISIT WHILE IN BIG SUR

1. Pfeiffer Beach

Most famous for its purple colored sand, and amazing views Pfeiffer Beach is a beautiful relatively unspoiled destination. This beach is a little bit of a trek to access however everyone will tell you its well worth visiting. The beach has stunning offshore views of stunning sea stacks and rock formations with the occasional surf. If you are a surfer it may be worth bringing your board, but don't expect consistent waves. Because of the a way the beach is angled, it's an amazing place for photography, hence why so many people flock to this beach with their cameras!

2. Bixby Bridge

This bridge is the Big Sur's version of the Golden Gate bridges in San Francisco, CA. This historical bridge overlooking the ocean is a very iconic subject for photographers. It is also a great spot for animal & nature lovers as the views are just breathtaking. This bridge is one of the tallest single-span concrete bridges in the world, spanning about 714 feet in length.

3. McWay Falls

This is another must-stop for anyone spending time in the Big Sur Coast and in search to have their jaws drop. There is an 80-ft waterfall which flows into a beautiful beach surrounded by a cove. You can hike the whole area which is about .6 miles in total. However it may take you a little longer as you will be stopping frequently to soak in all the beauty.

4. Limekiln State Park

If you are growing tired of ocean specific views (highly doubtful) then  views Limekiln State Park may be your next stop! This park is great for biking, hiking , exploring the kiln tower historic sites, and has an abundant amount of wildlife to view. This park also has a bunch of campsites that you can set-up camp, just make sure you make a reservation before hand as its a popular place!

5. Point Lobos

Point logos is a great spot if you like hiking along the ocean while enjoying lush meadows in the opposite direction. If you happen to be here during the winter you may be in luck..... this is a great spot to whale watch! Sea lions frequent here all year long so don't be surprised if you happen to spot them beaching on these shores. They are little restless so keep your distance to avoid any conformation  with these cute fellas.
